Codie Sanchez is a Managing Partner at Cresco Capital Partners, a venture capital and private equity fund in the legalized cannabis space with $100M in AUM. She previously built and lead First Trust’s ($120B) Latin America Investment business. Prior to that she held positions in equity analysis at Goldman Sachs ($1.5T), institutional fixed income at State Street ($2.8T), and international equity at Vanguard ($5.3T). She started her career as a journalist where she won the JFK award and the Howard Buffett Foundation grant for covering human trafficking. Sanchez is a pundit and columnist on investing, macro trends, cannabis and startups. She has been highlighted on The Today Show, Forbes, Fast Company, Entrepreneur, People en Español, Business Wire, Cheddar, etc. She has an M.B.A. from Georgetown University, a master’s from ESADE, a PhD from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, and a B.A. from Arizona State University. She sits on the board of The Arcview Group, the leading cannabis seed investment platform, Magma Partners, a tech focused venture fund in Chile, Hispanic Executive Corporation and is actively involved in American Enterprise Institute, the free markets think tank.
Troy is an elected board member for the Marijuana Policy Project and was formerly their top fundraiser and lead liaison to the legal cannabis industry. He is a founding board member of the National Cannabis Industry Association and co-founder of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, which is now on over 200 campuses. Troy also helped launch and served as the first sales director at Renewable Choice Energy, which was recently named the #1 green power provider by the EPA. He was recently named by Fortune Magazine as one of the top 7 most powerful people in the cannabis industry. In his spare time, Troy enjoys karaoke and the Burning Man festival.
